Obama's VP Rumor
Aug. 22nd, 2008 06:27 pmWell he's cuter than Joe Biden at least. I don't know much about him (heading to google....) :-)

Update: It's Joe Biden - ugh.... well, at least one of them is cute :-)

Aug. 14th, 2008 01:02 pm* I listened with great interest and even a bit of awe to Billy Graham give a Ted Talk (old talk from 1998 - retrieved from the archives). I'm not religious in the way most people are, but I do agree that we, the human race, lack the glue that binds us - and don't seem to have a clue, as a world society, how to find it. I enjoyed this talk very much - I enjoy listening to him - even when I don't agree with his specific religious beliefs.
* Poof! Next `Harry Potter' flick moves to NEXT summer
Ouch - there's going to be a few upset peeps out there I think.
* I spent yesterday with my friend Alexis and her friend - we went to see the new Mummy movie and eat Mongolian BBQ. I stopped off at SunHarvest Farms and found Organic soybeans on sale for 89 cents a pound - very good deal these days. I stocked up. We also stopped by the co-op and we both couldn't resist an old fashioned manual crank "coffee" mill (made in China) for $25.99. It said on the box it would grind grains and beans which sold me since I've been trying to find something to crack grains for me for making Tempeh and hot cereals. I tested it and - yes, it works (though it only does a small quantity at a time - it's a good task while watching TV or a DVD). I will post a picture this weekend.
* Is there ANYBODY who didn't see this coming?...... US, Poland agree to missile defense deal
* Every day this week I got my heiny up at 7am and walked 30 minutes before I was awake enough to talk myself out of it. A few of those days I also did the warmup portion of the Inhale yoga show. W00t - I'm on a roll :-)
* Finally - Sweden shows that, not only are they are poor losers, but they can throw one heck of a temper tantrum..... LoL
Swedish fans booed loudly as the judges filed out of the arena. Abrahamian said nothing to waiting reporters but whacked an aluminium barricade with his fist as he left the hall.......Swedish coach Leo Myllari said: “It’s all politics.”

Aug. 8th, 2008 11:16 am* I got a message on my social site from a man who is very interesting and I'd like to get to know better. He's traveled to a lot of the same places as me - even shows a picture of him standing in front of the same Buddha that I have a picture of me in front of! Problem is that he's 10 years younger than me. I'm uncomfortable with that. I wrote him back and said so - and suggested something platonic. I'll let you know if he writes back. He'd probably be a great hiking partner.
Update: Nope, he says he wants to "Share Love" - I'm pretty sure I know what that means.... :-)
* Some of my hens are laying eggs with only the "skin" (I know the right word for this, but I'm too lazy to bring it to the front of my brain) on them. I hope it's just because they are new to laying. They go on layer mash next week - and I'll be switching out their crushed granite for crushed oyster shells. That might help too.
* JSYK: Chickens don't care for Lentil Soup.
* I had a Peanut Butter & Ricemallow sandwich this morning. Breakfast of Champions.

Our President has no Brain
Jul. 14th, 2008 03:36 pm& another thing...... since we're stomping all over our freedoms these days - how about making it illegal to own a Hummer or SUV???
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080714/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush
"Once again, the oilman in the White House is echoing the demands of Big Oil," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "The Bush plan is a hoax. It will neither reduce gas prices nor increase energy independence. It just gives millions more acres to the same companies that are sitting on nearly 68 million acres of public lands and coastal areas."

May. 11th, 2008 06:22 pm6 o'clock Bad News Is on Everyday......
Feb. 18th, 2008 01:08 pm* The refinery explosion up by Dallas happened first thing this morning. Tetco's price on gas when I drove in to work today $2.99 (16 cents more than the other stations). What price gouging losers.
* Bush Senior officially backed McCain this morning. Please - like we care about the endorsement of someone in the same gene pool as Bush Jr.
* Big Meat recall from a plant that happened to get caught sending out bad stuff. "Raymond said cattle that had lost the ability to walk since passing pre-processing inspections were slaughtered without an inspector having examined them for chronic illness -- a practice he said violated federal regulations and had been going on for at least two years. " Anyone who is shocked by this or thinks this type of stuff isn't commonplace in most processing plants - please go to Amazon.com and buy Mad Cowboy (you can get a vendor copy for as little at $2.50).
Buy Certified Organic Beef people
* Why can't we have a Hilak Clobama as a candidate? I like Hillary's plan, but I won't vote for her because I feel she will be like sandpaper in the bathingsuit bottoms of government. If we could morph the two of them together it would be perfect.
* and finally..... I saw a segment on Dubya in Africa demanding congress approve funds for his Aids project. Good charity, but so fake is his gesture - it's so obvious he's trying to get remembered for SOMETHING besides spearheading the mess our country is currently in.
Now that I have all that off my chest ..... :-)
I'm thinning out the carrots so the rest can grow bigger.
Aren't these adorable?
I chopped them up really good
and tossed them into a mixed greens salad (making it even more mixed....)
Go Greens!!
On a Slightly Negative Note.......
Resident Evil: Extinction
Jan. 10th, 2008 10:53 amIt was on the level of Tank Girl (without the awesome kangaroo men or quirky coolness factor). It felt like a B movie.
I loved the first Resident Evil and liked the second. This one - not so good. They didn't develop the characters enough to care about them (or hate them). It all seemed really lazy in general. The only person who did an excellent job was Mia Jovovich's wardrobe designer (way cool duds). If I'd spent $7 to see this in the movie's I'd have felt ripped off (I still feel ripped off because I used one of my two monthly exchanges in store to get it).

Barak Attack.....
Dec. 10th, 2007 11:00 amIn the comments of the article (very entertaining on their own) there was a link to a website documenting the current information collected from the patriotic voting public about Obama's shenanigans............ (warning: over-the-top parody ahead) :-)
The Vote (first of many to come I bet)
Dec. 5th, 2007 09:23 pmI just did the www.votehelp.org questionnaire. Great site. It was no surprise that my top 5 candidates were democrats.
I was a little surprised that Hillary Clinton was #1. The things we did not agree on were not an that much of an issue or issues I didn't really know a great deal about.
Barak Obama was #2
Dennis Kucinich was #4, and I "like" him the best (no, it's not because he's a vegetarian...) :-)
I"m so hoping we don't get another block head this time around. Seriously.
Mass Requiring Health Care Coverage.....
Aug. 16th, 2007 03:30 pmMass is requiring citizens to have health insurance. They are subsidizing poor folks and the middle class get to suck it up.
I'm 100% for everyone having health coverage, but I'm not for government making the insurance companies rich by REQUIRING people to BUY their expensive coverage. Stupid (imho - but what do I know....)
In my perfet world - the medical industry charges reasonable prices for care that everyone can afford.
Since that is never ever going to happen since corporations are greedy bastards -
Health care should be put in the governments hands - much like Canada and New Zealand.
The United States Goverment in control of our health care.......... I guess there really isn't an answer to this dilema is there.
Wow, this makes me actually glad I'm living in Texas (imagine that) :-)
