Yesterday we saw Inception at the IMAX. After my initial disappointment of learning that it wasn't in 3D (I don't know why I assumed all IMAX movies were in 3D.....) I settled down to view, what I thought would be, a high action suspense flick.  It turned out to be so much more.  I will buy this for DVD to watch it several times in order to fully figure it out.  I actually dreamed about it last night.  Possibly the best movie I will see this year.  We sat a little close to the screen so the action and sound was a little over-whelming at times, but it was still way worth the $14 per person admission.  If you haven't seen it yet and plan to - just make sure you are alert because, in order to understand what's going on, you have to pay close attention throughout.

After the movie we made out appointment at the Apple store.  My Touch was having headphone jack issues.  They gave me a new one.  Turns out it has the old iPod operating system on it.  I haven't decided if I want to go ahead and update to the newer version since I was having so much trouble with errors on the new version I had on my old touch.  Maybe I'll just enjoy the old version for a while first.

We ate a late lunch at a little "semi fast food" chain restaurant called Pei Wei.  We were actually impressed.  The food and atmosphere was good, and the portions very large - we took home leftovers.  I had the Orange Peel Chicken, and Marcel had the Mango Chicken. Bonus - Edamame on the appetizer menu and Fortune Cookies after.

Oh Yeah!!

Maybe it was the IMAX experience, but that has to be one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.
My only regret is that now I'm spoiled and might not enjoy a traditional movie screen again.
Well worth the 45 minute drive and the $9.50 I had to fork over for a medium soda and small popcorn.

Bah!!

It's damp and yucky - torrential rain one minute - just muck the next.
I'm outta here.
Going to SA to finally see Dark Knight at the IMAX
By myself :-(

 *  I can't help looking at Hillary Clinton as a spoiled sport for not squelching an attempt to put her name in nomination at the convention.  I am assuming this means she isn't the VP pick (and I'm glad of late - she disappointed me these past couple of months).

* I listened with great interest and even a bit of awe to Billy Graham give a Ted Talk (old talk from 1998 - retrieved from the archives).  I'm not religious in the way most people are, but I do agree that we, the human race, lack the glue that binds us - and don't seem to have a clue, as a world society, how to find it.  I enjoyed this talk very much - I enjoy listening to him - even when I don't agree with  his specific religious beliefs.

Poof! Next `Harry Potter' flick moves to NEXT summer
Ouch - there's going to be a few upset peeps out there I think.

*  I spent yesterday with my friend Alexis and her friend - we went to see the new Mummy movie and eat Mongolian BBQ.  I stopped off at SunHarvest Farms and found Organic soybeans on sale for 89 cents a pound - very good deal these days.  I stocked up.  We also stopped by the co-op and we both couldn't resist an old fashioned manual crank "coffee" mill (made in China) for $25.99.  It said on the box it would grind grains and beans which sold me since I've been trying to find something to crack grains for me for making Tempeh and hot cereals.  I tested it and - yes, it works (though it only does a small quantity at a time - it's a good task while watching TV or a DVD).  I will post a picture this weekend.

*  Is there ANYBODY who didn't see this coming?...... US, Poland agree to missile defense deal

* Every day this week I got my heiny up at 7am and walked 30 minutes before I was awake enough to talk myself out of it.  A few of those days I also did the warmup portion of the Inhale yoga show.  W00t - I'm on a roll :-)

* Finally - Sweden shows that, not only are they are poor losers, but they can throw one heck of a temper tantrum..... LoL

Swedish fans booed loudly as the judges filed out of the arena. Abrahamian said nothing to waiting reporters but whacked an aluminium barricade with his fist as he left the hall.......Swedish coach Leo Myllari said: “It’s all politics.”

IronMan

I decided to go ahead and see Ironman at the 2pm matinee Saturday.  I get off work at 12:30, so I stopped in to Bass shoe outlet and Dress Barn for a few  Ended up with a cute pantsuit that I'm not suppposed to be buying.

I know it's futile to complain, and maybe it's just bad form - but $4.00 for a large soda?  I stopped off at Walgreens on my way there for a couple of snacks that would fit in my purse to avoid some of the snackbar sticker shock.  I don't think it's anymore of a sin to sneak a snack in than it is to charge $5.00 for a popcorn.

The movie was an awesome theater must see if you like action movies.  Robert Downey Jr. makes a terrific superhero, and I see a trilogy on the horizon - one that I actually look forward to.  Jeff Bridges played the bad guy - Terrance Howard an air force officer (I love that guy - why isn't he in more moves?).

Friday the camera shop called to say my digital was ready to pick up.  I didn't get the message until the evening, and they weren't open weekends.  Monday - blah, didn't want the drive then have to rush to work - so I went today.

I brought it in the beginning of May - so about 8 weeks without a camera.

I don't know if I remember saying when I brought it in that there were several Pentax cameras in the display case for sale from people having them repaired and not picking them up.  I thought it disheartening they were ALL Pentax yet the camera shop fixes all makes.  Today when I went to pick up my camera there was a lady dropping off a camera for repair........ a Pentax.

Nice to have the camera back.  I hope it doesn't end up being like my riding mower (lemon).

After I got the camera I dropped by the Quarry Center and saw Transformers.  Can't remember how many times I said "Whoa!".  Very good movie to see on the big screen.  It even had fun characters.

Since I was in the neighborhood I also stopped at Whole Foods and picked up random food items.  Went up 284 on the way home and stopped at Sun Harvest and picked up some more random foods.  Then headed home.

I really miss Sierra.
I wish I had a friend to do stuff with.

Went today to the 11am matinee.  I almost had the whole theater to myself.  Awesome.  I stopped at the Walgreens on the way and bought peanut butter cups and chocolate covered peanuts.  At the theater I got a large popcorn and a large soda.  Needless to say I had a stomach ache the rest of the day.  I miss going to the movies with Sierra.

Stopped by Home Depot on the way home and bought 9 more cinderblocks to make another level on my compost bin.  Finished up the mowing in the PM.  Weird not having American Idol at 7pm.

p.s - The Chicken came over again.....
