I'm thinning out the carrots so the rest can grow bigger.
Aren't these adorable?
I chopped them up really good
and tossed them into a mixed greens salad (making it even more mixed....)
Go Greens!!
On a Slightly Negative Note.......

I'm watching Inside Edition (or was it 20/20....) Friday night, and they have a show on Narcissists concentrating on celebrities. After watching I'm thinking that it sure isn't JUST celebrities displaying this type of behavior.
This from Wikipedia describing what a narcissist is:
I wonder if it's just the Bush Administration - or have we degenerated over decades to be what we are today.
These are examples of why I feel this way:
We let poor people do without basic necessities like health care and food.
We don't respond to the needs of other countries who are experiencing emergencies (Darfur currently - but there have been many)
We expect English to be spoken even when we are in a country where English isn't the first language.
We readily intimidate countries who we disagree with (granted some need to be dealt with - but we are too quick to say we'll take miltary action)
Our country behaves in this manner, and so does most of big business - and small business is following suit - will every individual soon be next?
I'm very concerned about things like this because I'm seeing more and more of it every day (or am I just noticing it more now that I recognize that it's there.....)

I think the whole pop culture thing has just gone of the scale, plus i'm not the first to say it, but the culture has gotten coarser.

Date: 2008-01-28 07:58 pm (UTC)I worry about the narcissistic and entitled attitudes permeating the pop culture too. But then when I meet people like you who strive to live a simplified life I feel hope.
