* McCain should really be ashamed of himself..... An Antichrist Obama in McCain Ad?

*  I got a message on my social site from a man who is very interesting and I'd like to get to know better.  He's traveled to a lot of the same places as me - even shows a picture of him standing in front of the same Buddha that I have a picture of me in front of!   Problem is that he's 10 years younger than me.  I'm uncomfortable with that.  I wrote him back and said so - and suggested something platonic.  I'll let you know if he writes back.  He'd probably be a great hiking partner.
Update: Nope, he says he wants to "Share Love" - I'm pretty sure I know what that means.... :-)

*  Some of my hens are laying eggs with only the "skin" (I know the right word for this, but I'm too lazy to bring it to the front of my brain) on them. I hope it's just because they are new to laying.  They go on layer mash next week - and I'll be switching out their crushed granite for crushed oyster shells.  That might help too.

JSYK: Chickens don't care for Lentil Soup.

*  I had a Peanut Butter & Ricemallow sandwich this morning.  Breakfast of Champions.

jennholly again....
The layer feed and oyster will probably help.

Ricemallow? You are opening the door to all kinds of way cool funky foods.

I'm glad I can read your blog again. My work had banned livejournal access for a while.

OMG - I've been unplugged for the last few days... McCain should be ashamed. Ugh.

Ten years younger? You and I must be close to the same age - you don't have to marry him... just have dinner and see if you have chemistry. Men frequently have younger women. ;)

Hee, hee

Go chickens. Do they eat the crushed oyster shells? I can see that would be good for shell production.

McCain is such an idiot...

The fellow sounds like a very cool match... same Buddha, wow... I love stuff like that :)

Jack is younger than me (7 years)and I LIKE it! It was a little funny at first but I got used to it. I always kind of thought people my same age & older were fuddy duddy-ish so it helps to have a younger man.. and there are other advantages ;-D

Yea, that membranous 'shell' is kinda creepy, isn't it? It's the brand new little hens that often start that way. Then the shells get regular. I do feed the birds back the eggshells and sprouts every day and the shells are fine, yolks orange-y and perky!

What was the sandwich on? Is Ricemallow like a whipped rice syrup or something?

It was me...

I ate it on homemade multigrain bread I make. I call it Random Bread because it turns out completely different every time.

Yes, it's rice syrup and some other ingredients. Regular marshmallow creme is made with gelatin which I avoid since it's made from boiled cow "stuff".

The crushed oyster shells should do it :) Usually a few are laid without shells when they first start, but if it happens after that, it is calcium deficiency. I used to feed the dried, crushed shells back to my chooks. Do not feed fresh ones back to them, or they may develop the egg eating habit. This usually only happens of they are not fed properly and do not have enough room, though. Because you let your chooks out for roams, they should also get minerals for the bugs they find and eat.

That guy sounds interesting. I hope you develop a good friendship. I'm with the other - keep an open mind and see what happens! I have a friend whose mother is married to a guy 15 or 20 years younger than herself; Also, one of my brothers married a woman older than him, and they have been married for years!
