Today starts the day I'm back to doing a daily video workout.  Before my accident 2 weeks ago I'd been doing so well completing 20minutes of a video workout every day (or 30 minutes of walking).  My knee only has a little water on it now, and it feels good - so I gotta get back to it.  I'll pick only the easy workouts for a week.  I'm just too old now to not exercise - my body is beginning to feel middle aged, and I'm scared....very scared. :-)

On an even more middle aged note...... here is an update on the quilt.  Sewing the block sections to the sashings - and top should be ready to sandwich by Monday.

P.S could any of my friends tell me what a Tag is and why one would use them?

You could tag this entry and every other entry in which you write about quilting with the word 'quilting', then whey you click on the tag, every entry about 'quilting' will pop up. It can be very useful for finding old entries, pariticularly if you are good about tagging.

Your quilt is beautiful. Do you keep them? Sell them?

What is your favorite quilt?

Yay, thanks - I will be posting pics as I go along and a final pic when it's done.

I give my quilts away mostly (though I'm keeping this one because it's made to kind of match my recently redecorated bedroom). I usually just do the traditional (and easy) nine-patch, my quilting philosophy is "never buy fabric for patches" - which is why I always refer to them as scrap quilts. I get fabric from friends, the back of my closet, coworkers, etc. - but I don't allow myself to buy any block fabric (the older I get the more eccentric I get). I buy sashing fabric, backing, and batting (always 100% cotten - so that can be pricy). My favorite quilt is the Hawaiian quilts, but no way do I have the talent or patience to actually make one.

One of these days I'd like to take up quilting. My grandmother used to do it and I always loved them. There is a lady on my friendslist named cherylsterling who does amazing quilts. I highly recommend her.

To me quilting is really relaxing. The rules are simple, and you don't really have to think while working - so it can be a working meditation.

How long do you think it takes you to make a quilt?

From Start to Finish about a month. I don't have much free time to work on them though - maybe 20 minutes a day at most.

Is that a White (brand) sewing machine? I had one a couple of years ago and they are good machines. I sewed several things on mine and it always performed well. You could say they are "sew good." hehehe

Have a good weekend.

This one is a "New Home". White is a better model, but I couldn't afford a White with all the features the New Home had. After 5 years the Nwe Home is still going strong; however, I found I didn't end up needing all those extra features - haha.

I'm not familiar with the New Home brand. Glad to hear you recommend it though. I have been thinking about getting another machine once I get moved into my new home. So I may check that one out as well to see. I still like to sew things. hehehe

Thank you and have a wonderful week.
