The baby is so cute!

Where are the other chickens?

They were in the main part of the yard. They rarely go into the coop area during the day (only to lay eggs).

How are you feeling?

means you have roosters. i'm not allowed to have roosters. and you know, i've always wanted chickens but have worries about the cats and have wondered if it is a lot of work. you have a lot of doors in teh coop. is that normal?

The side doors I close in winter at night. In the summer it's so warm that I leave them open. Once the chickens become full grown there isn't a risk from hawks or cats. Only dogs. My chickens could totally take any of the neighbor cats! :-)

They really aren't a lot of work. Especially if you can free range them during the day. They naturally fertilize the yard and eat bugs - you only need to keep food and water in the bowl and collect eggs - then once every couple of weeks clean the coop (takes about 15 minutes).

Aaaw...that baby is so cute! I don't see any black markings on it yet.

I am in awe of the coop you made :)
