*  I'm working 9-6:30pm today so I can drive down to be with Marcel tonight and tomorrow (I'll go home Thursday morning).  He's been so busy - I want to do the driving more often; gives him more time to get stuff done.  For the second time the sale of the restaurant is postponed.  I'm wondering if it isn't the universe hinting that we should not sell it.

* I planted yard-long beans .... it's early, but I need to have SOMETHING growing in the garden

* I've begun the task of digging grape vine beds.  All total there will be 6 beds.  It seems as simple as digging a deep hole; however, this is Texas..... land of clay and rock.  Soaking the ground the night before helps a little, but it's still a lot of exercise.  Can't wait to have my little Muscadine vinyard though! :-)

* I was harvesting Figs and came across this fellow hanging out.  I don't even know what it is - he didn't seem to be bothering anything, so I didn't grab him and feed him to the chickens.... ;-)

That might be a sap sucking insect - probably not doing a lot of harm.

Digging your dirt would be HARD work! Yard long beans - great! And hopefully they are tough enough to withstand the temperatures.

Hmmm...on the restaurant thing. I know you love cooking, and I can see you could be involved somehow...but not quite how!

Yard long beans are related to field peas (black eyed peas, purple hull peas, etc.), so they thrive in hot weather. I'm only a little worried about how the seedlings do in the hot sun (so far so good).
