The alarm went off this morning, and I peeked out from under the covers to see the bedroom heater reading 59F.
Noooooooo!!!!!!
Second thought:  Why didn't I set up the coffee maker in the bedroom last night?

Thank goodness I was smart enough to wear actual pajamas and socks to bed.

Third thought:  There will be no walk this morning, so how will I wake up and warm up?

Rummaged through my entertainment cabinet and pulled out my workout DVD's - put on Reebok Step Workout (does anybody remember that - Gin Miller & the African Drums in the MTV-like setting? - still my favorite if I have to exercise inside).

Worked out with the sound off and my iPod on until the first pulse check (30 minutes) - the temperature on the heater was at 66F (wow, guess I'm hot huh??) ;-)

Only downside is after I had to take a shower (and then get out of the shower.....Nooooo!!!!!)

hahaha sorry... yeah, the house smells really yummy with a pot of split pea soup, too.

Yesterday I made lemon shortbread which is TOO good and rich.. froze them. Today it's the Butter Nut Snowballs, my mom's famous holiday cookie we all crave.

I'm not baking this year. I was going to make soap, but I never got around to that either.

Maybe I'll give people eggs this year..... :-)

eggs are a great idea if you have that many..! we're still getting 4-5 a day from the new baby hens... the older girls, nada yet.

The baking frenzy isn't for gifts... It's for us! I may have mentioned how VERY little I'm doing.. not even cards? A few years I was INCAPABLE of not doing cards, gifts, all of it... I think I just burned out~

This was the first year in many I sent some cards out. For years I only did digital because the cost of postage was so annoying. I got so much enjoyment from it - I'll start doing it every year (only at Christmas...I'm still a tightwad afterall..) :-)

My girls are averaging 5-6 a day right now. With Sierra here we do okay eating them (I bake with them - and I give me neighbor's daughter eggs when she comes over to visit. If I get too many I boil them up and make deviled eggs for work.

I love deviled eggs... ohhhh boy... but somehow when I make them they're not as good as when I eat them a party or picnic!

Good for you with cards. I sometimes am more ambitious with some kind of scanned family pic collage made into a card.. dunno why I haven't felt the creative juice for it ...yet.. may still happen.. !

I'd like to do handmade cards or something extra personalized next year. My friend Dawn (LJ name Sahlah) makes this hilarious xmas family newsleter every year - cracks me up.
