Is There a Cat Whisperer In The House?

My cat frequently meows and meows until she gets my attention - then continues until I lay down on the floor with her. 

This happens several times a week.

I'll lay down right by her to pet her, and she'll get up and move away several feet (apparently I intrude on her personal space) - then she'll lay down facing me and just stare at me. 

If I get up - she gets up.  It's weird.

That is weird. I don't know anything about cats so I can't explain that. If it was a dog maybe I'd know. I'm sure it's cute and annoying at the same time.

My son's cat starts meowing and meowing on the washing machine outside the back door for no good reason, sometimes. She just wants attention :) She hasn't done it for a while until just the other night :) I just pick her up and stroke her and she purrs and purrs. She really loves to jump up and put her claws in my shoulders - youch!

That's really strange that your cat wants you to to lie near her, but not too close and no stroking. Weird :)

PS She is really cute and fluffy :)
