* The rain has me inside AGAIN....  argh!!  I did manage to get the mowing done and Roo's feet treated.  I massaged in a mixture of canola and orange oil hoping this would convince whatever it is that's irritating them to move on.  Here's a picture of us (doesn't he look thrilled?)

These are the links to the two Zencast talks I felt deal with the monotony of life (at least partially).  You can listen directly from the site, or you can download to your Ipod from the sources listed on the main page (I use Itunes - you can just type in Zencast in the search bar and it will bring up all the talks.

Now - an Ekhart Tolle Q & A  September 11, 2005 - I listen to this over and over - he is awesome.

* If this isn't a Red Flag that we've got a problem with caffeine in this country, I don't know what is.  They offer these shots of caffeine to add to your already caffeinated coffee along side sugars and creamers at my local convenience shop.

Honestly I'm not positive it's mites - I'm guessing.

You can see mites if you look close. I found them on my girls right by their vent area last month - you have to look really close to see them (yeah, I know - - I hope the neighbors didn't see me with a hens butt up against my face.....lol).

hahahaha Then what'd you do for the girls?

Does it make them itch? Does Roo have owies from it? :-{ Poor babies... & you, too... We may have them and I don't even know.

Do you have one of those sprinking applicators for the DE? I remember reading we shouldn't use straw for the bedding since mites can live in it.. but we do use some straw.. uh oh...

I dusted their butts with DE. I also dusted the coop and yard. I'm going to start doing a deep cleaning of the coop once a month using orange oil in the wash water. It's a small coop, so it's not a big deal.

I don't see them itch, but I imagine they do. Your girls may be controlling it themselves with their dust baths.

Oh, they do love their dustbaths.. Does that help the mite situation? Now I'm nervous to look.. And why were you looking so close in the first place. :) tee hee that must be an interesting story..

What's UTC? 1:29 am?
