If I could sell our houses and business and relocate, and my husband agreed - this is where I'd TOTALLY live and the property I'd buy!
(Leavenworth Washinton is "Your Bavarian Getaway" - the brochure says so) :-)

I was  listening to the Diane Rehm show on the way to work, and she was interviewing the author of the new book The Story of Edgar Sawtelle: A Novel .  I got to work and sat in my truck listening for as long as I dared, but had to get into work.  I hope I can find this online later, so I can listen to the whole thing at home.  I can't wait until the book has been around for a little while and I can pick it up for less (or at the library).

Anyone else a Diane Rehm fan?  I look forward to driving to work with her everyday.

Okay, I'm seriously considering trying to figure out how to buy one.  I want to keep my truck, but it gets bad gas mileage (20mpg) and throws off more emissions than I'm comfortable with.  It would be a commute bike (8 miles each way to and from work).  I'd use the truck strictly for hauling and stuff.

Am I too old for this?? :-)

This is the coolest thing - and it's under 9k and 500cc's (and I can't fall over because it has three wheels!)

Someone throw cold water on me and tell me it's going to cost a mint to insure etc. etc...... :-)

I keep thinking of things I want, but I know I can't get them - so I end up just forgeting about it.  So I want to take advantage of my Live Journal's storage ability to keep that information frozen in time.  Might help me to prioritize in the future.  I'll keep this in Memories and add to it as time goes on.

RAIN BARREL SYSTEM
This would be 4 barrels in front and 4 barrels in back = 8 barrels total.  I estimate the expense to be about $1,000.00 if I use Aquabarrel.com and buy the additional parts from Lowes or Home Depot.

CHICKEN COOP
I want a simple permanent coop and pen enclosure to keep about 6 hens and possibly a rooster.  So many choices out there on design, but I'd probably need someone to build it for me if I want anything decent.  Like below only the run would be less like a cage and much bigger. I figure $1,000 including the run (that's modest).

* CHICKEN TRACTOR
I also want to build a chicken tractor so I can move them around the property to "graze".  I can probably make this myself.  I guess materials to cost about $100.00.

* FOODSAVER PRO III VACUUM SEALER
This is a little over $200.00 on Amazon.com w/free shipping.  This is a really nice to have.  I've tried to justify it as a necessity; however, I can't lie to myself.  One of those things that aren't required, but would be VERY VERY VERY VERY very very nice to have. :-)

* GREENHOUSE 8X12
This one from www.littlegreenhouse.com and priced at $3,000 (but it rocks!)
