dalthauser: (THOSE WHO WAIT)
I have it, and it's not fun.....

I'll save you all the details and just hit the highlights:

1.)  Rash w/ blisters appears on my right arm - "spreads" within a three day period to my left arm - then to my ribcage and forehead - then finally my eyelids.  Itching...... oh my the itching.

2.)  Insect bites?  Allergic reaction?  Disease?

2.)  Research the rash via internet and become convinced I have either Leprosy or Shingles.

3.) Make Dermatologist appointment (not my regular doc since he couldn't see me for a whole week, and I was sure I'd be sent to Molokaii before then)

4.) Doc says I'll live - I have Contact Dermatitis probably from something "you got into"....  She gave me a script for Prednisone and sent me on my way.

Fun stuff.  :-/

Marcel was very supportive in the subject line of his recent email:  "Think positive please...."  :-)  He was very happy when I called and reported that the doc said I would live.

That's all for now.....carry on.... :-)

* I'm still sick, but I've entered into the stage where I hack up crud from deep inside my chest.  Gross, but a good sign.  By Monday I should be right as rain.

*  I went into the garden this morning to uncover all the stuff I quickly covered last night in case it froze (it didn't), and I said "hello" to the sheep who stay in the front of my neighbors property this time of year.  They like me.  I throw over green things to them whenever I'm in the area.

* I can't remember what this tree is called but I caught a pic of it blooming.  The bees love it.  When I first moved here they looked like two overgrown bushes, and my mom did a great job taming and shaping them.  I try and keep it up every year.

* Still no new food.  I've found many items in the freezer I'd forgotten I put there.  I can probably go another week before I have to break down and shop.

Sick

I came down sick Monday, but I beat it off - or so I thought.  Yesterday morning I woke up with sore throat, congestion, and the whole official cold symptoms.  Yuck.  Can't be off work because I'm training for me new job duties, so I dropped in to CVS for an arm full of help.  NormalIy I try and take as little as possible, but I really need to get through the next two days.  I got...
Chloraseptic  Spray (operative word here "septic" as it tastes like a septic tank smells)
Riccola Cough Drops
Alka Seltzer Plus
Mucinex (the middle one extra strength but not the one that makes you sleepy)
Niquil (so I will sleep good and get enough rest)

I wonder if it's bad to mask the sneezing and coughing, and running of mucus, etc.?  Isn't your body doing that for a reason?

On a positive note - I'm going to like my new job area.  Same basic job, but less of the high pressure sales part (which I absolutely hate).  I also have my own little cubicle (sad right - being grateful for having a cubicle)

Today I had a headache most of the day.  Jeez! - yesterday gas bubble - today headache.  I'm friggin' falling apart! :-)

I couldn't afford to sideline myself - there is just too much to do.

I went to Walmart and bought an electric chainsaw.  I require one now since the pile of limbs by the meadow tree is now big.  I was planning to hand saw the larger pieces into burnable size; however, there are too many and it's just too hard.  Anyway - got the saw home and used it to cut one piece and the bar comes loose (yes, I did read the manual before operating).  I took it apart and tried, with the help of the manual, to figure out what was wrong - no luck.  So, I brought it back and went to Home Depot and got the same brand (Remington) only the "deluxe" model for $20 more than what I spent at Walmart.  The deluxe model is self-oiling and has an easier way to tighten the chain.  I got it home, but it was too late to play with it - too much other things to do.  Tuesday!

Brought veggies over to my next door neighbor Gerry early in the evening.

Tonight around 9:30pm I was talking to my dad and the weather went crazy.  Temp dropped by about 10 degrees and winds kicked up.  Next came the rain.  I had to hang up so I could get the windows rolled up in the truck and let the dogs in.  I ran a bath and while bathing the power went out., so I spent the rest of the evening playing with the dogs in the dark.  Power came back on at around 3am - I woke up on the floor with the dogs lying around me, got up and turned all the lights off - then went to my bed.  It was a good night overall - I had fun hanging with the dogs with no other distractions.

Today I had to skip work because I had, what I think was, a gas bubble in my intestine (I think).  Talk about uncomfortable!  I woke up with it, and I thought it would be okay - so I went ahead and went to work.  By the time I got to work it was seriously uncomfortable. I tried stretching, touching my toes, drinking hot tea, - nothing.  I finally went home.  At home I did more stretching and massaging - and got some relief.  It lingered into the night though.

Not sure what caused this.  I've had this one time before when I worked part time at TA about a year ago.  That's why I didn't totally panic and go to the doctor.  I'm thinking it was something unfamiliar I ate since Friday I ate lunch at Olive Garden.  Again, it could be the Enzyme's I took just prior to that lunch (similar to Beano).

I'm going to wait a month and try to take the Enzyme product again.  If I get the same symptoms, I'll know what caused it.  I'll be sure and do it on a day when I don' t have to work for a couple of days :-)
