I am so glad!!!! I think it's really important to have things paid off before things get worse 2009/2010.
I need a new car myself but instead will be maintaining it until I get the cash to buy one in full. I have half of the amount I need so far to buy a new one. My car runs good but needs new window tint and a paint job bad. I will have to get the window tint done this month because I doubt it will pass inspection since it's so bubbled up you can hardly see out the windows.
I toyed with the idea of trading it in for a Hybrid, but I have to have a truck for hauling etc. - and there aren't any notably fuel efficient/green models out there yet in the general market. Mine gets 21mpg which is better than some. I also have the window tint issue (and the A/C doesn't work) - but I'm going to do like you and save for an additional vehicle.
