To Know You Have Enough.....Is To Be Rich

 That is the message I have printed on my bank checks (which I get free from work), so I can remember it every time I'm ready to spend money.

I read the blog entry below from Get Rich Slowly this morning.  It made me smile because it's very much how I look at what being "rich" is.

I am so fortunate to have found a partner who does NOT stress over money... in fact, even when I have been stressed out over it with seeming reason, he'll tell me he is the richest person he knows... even if has just five bucks to his name... because he has EVERYTHING and more than he needs and is perfectly CONTENT.

I used to judge him harshly that he lacked ambition to have MORE & improve our lifestyle, yada yada but really I'm the one that has learned so much from him! And even tho' we may not have much to show for ourselves according to a yuppie set of standards, we are very abundant with a kind of contentment I've never experienced... and want very little other than the simple life we have. It has been very life-changing for me simply to know a person who thinks and feels this way...

It's difficult sometimes to keep values straight in the society we live in. I have to remind myself often what's really important and count my blessings a lot.
