Talked to dad - he seems to be doing good. I think I shouldn't have suggested he stay in a hotel for the first few days after surgery. I might have hurt my families feelings by suggesting their home was too chaotic/cluttered for someone trying to recuperate. Ah well, they are forgiving people - and I'm sure they know I meant well.
Spent almost the entire day outside - it was awesome. I got the entire vegetable garden mulched for summer. I also got the front gate area cleared and the livestock panels taken down (I will use one on the back gate and one to trellis peas this fall - yay!). I spent a good hour threading the new fencing behind the old playhouse (soon to be coop for yard birds I next year). It kept getting caught on the barbed wire, so I had to put a big piece of cardboard back there and put it in front of that - even so it got hung up several times. I haven't secured it yet; I think I'll need to drive in extra posts (which I have). Once the fence is up and the gates are fortified the dogs can come into the middle half of the property (yay).
