My Work Bans Another Website
Dec. 6th, 2007 11:19 amI went to log into Photobucket.com today and found it banned by my work.
Another nail in the coffin.
Now I know how the Myspace people felt when that site was banned.
They are still allowing Livejournal for now, but I wonder for how long.
I could get internet at home, but I really can't afford it - and I'd rather not have the temptation of hanging out at the computer for hours on end (that and the idea of internet at home still triggers an urge to smoke even after a year of being quit).
God, I so have to get off my arse and get my resume updated.
Almost all the reasons for me liking this company are gone - seriously.
One by one the joys of working here are vanishing.
At this point it's only my laziness and fear of the unknown is keeping me here.
That and medical insurance and a way to pay the mortgage.

Date: 2007-12-06 06:33 pm (UTC)That's the only reason why she works.
She tried paying for her own insurance for awhile, but it was just too expensive.
Being at a job you hate is misery.
I hope you find something better soon.

Date: 2007-12-06 07:20 pm (UTC)When I first came here two years ago I was in heaven. Decent pay, good incentive opportunities, good benefits, and most of all very good working environment. I'm talking atmosphere and vibe. It felt good to be here.
It doesn't feel good anymore, and there is a long list of reasons why which I don't feel comfortable about detailing since, afterall, I am writing this on a work computer... :-)
It's too bad. Maybe I'm even more upset because the first year was really awesome - such a let down.

Date: 2007-12-07 12:25 am (UTC)I am totally opposed to such things. But I have my own computer so that makes a difference I am certain. I know libraries ban a tremendous amount of internet from people coming to use them. It is horrible they get away with it. I thought censorship was against the law. But then, who cares about laws that support freedom in America?
Have a good day.
