Cool Window Treatment Idea

I was at Pennys, and I loved seeing this window treatment. It is sheel panels with an overlay of ribbons/metal beads. It's a middle eastern / harem look. Love it. Ribbon overlays were $40 per 42" panel - I think I can make it for about a third of that. I'll post a materials list etc. if I decide to try and make it myself.

Closeup of the ribbon & beads. You could get both at any craft supply store.

This is a closeup of how the ribbons attach to the rod. There are many ways to do this depending on the time you want to spend. I'd probably make the Satin tube to go over the rod and hand sew (or even hot glue) the ribbons after. You could sew the ribbons before, but turning it out would probably be a pain since the ribbons are so long - that would be the neatest & most professional way to do it though.

Here is the package at the store. 42" x 84" for $40. Really not that expensive, but above my price range.

And last, but not least, my friend Bea modeling the beads (store security asked us to leave shortly after this was taken...)
