The fig tree is HUGE! And what a great harvest. How do you keep squirrels and critters from eating the figs?

I like the photo of the bluebells with the cracked earth. Nature will prevail.

Looks like another lovely month in Dorie-ville!

The Squirrels don't feel to be at all interested. We share with the birds and bugs - there's enough to go aroud. :-) Any figs with bites out of them I throw over to the chickens.

Holy heck, your parsley roots are BIG!

Figs...Mmmm!

Loved your idea of a monthly slide show. Lots of things happening at your place!

Yes, those parsley are developed especially for the roots. The leaves are good too, but not as good as regular parsley.

When I committed to the monthly slideshow it motivated me to remember to take pictures - I enjoy looking back and they also help me remember what went into season when etc.

I enjoy the pictures you post too - wish more LJ friends would post pics :-)

I remember my mom making fig preserves back when I was just a kid. She'd then make fig bread with them that was delicious!

I've been trying to find the time to make some fig bread. Never had it before, but I love banana bread. Maybe the hubby will help me tomorrow :-)
