Have you ever made fruitcake? A co-worker might give me her grandmother's recipe, which involves months of work.
Most fruitcakes I've had were sickningly sweet with unnaturally green cherries. However, I did like my co-worker's version.
I've never had mincemeat pie.
I like good cranberry sauce. For leftovers, put it on cream cheese sandwich with and walnuts. Mmmm. I also had a cranberry/chili preserve that was great on almond butter sandwiches.
I've never made it because I never think about it until it's too late to start. There is a monestary in Oregon that puts out some awesome fruitcake. It's really hard to find good quality fruitcake these days because it's impossible to fake it - it does take a lot of time.
If you want to share that recipe with me....I'll try it too :-)
