At 7am this morning (before Marcel even left to go down south) - the post office called announcing the arrival of the new flock.
I kissed Marcel goodbye - jumped into my jeans - and headed to pick up my package of peeps!
I ordered 25 but there were only 24 in the box. Also, one came with an injured leg which means I have to put him down or give him his own little apartment so he can heal without being pecked to death my his siblings.
Happy Camper this morning! :-)

So what did you decide to do the injured bird? How bad is his leg?

Date: 2010-10-01 06:36 pm (UTC)The babies and big chickens are separated. There won't be any mingling until the babies are grown to full size. Then they will need to establish a new pecking order for themselves. :-)

I ad a cat who was very maternal, but I don't think I could have trusted her with chickens! Cyber is a very special cat.
