 A man from my neighborhood brought over two bags full of pears!
I returned the favor by giving him some goodies in my cupboard - Cantaloupe relish, Fig Chutney, Fig perserves.

I am probably going to try some pear preserves. I'll eat some too - though they are more the cooking type pears. I think I'd like to find out what type they are - maybe grow a tree or two in the back area. They seem to be pretty care free here. There is a house down the road that has three or four trees that are in terrible shape (owners do nothing with them) - yet every year they produce a huge amount of pears.
