Sierra's Halloween Gown
I'm putting this all behind a cut because I'm temporarily putting it at a sticky at the top of my journal. Once the gown is finished I'll release it. I'll be adding to it as I accomplish tasks and will post a final pic.

AUGUST 13, 2007
Here is a pic of the fabrics and pattern for Sierra's Halloween gown.

The red is for the bodice and underskirt. The mesh will overlay the bodice and underskirt. The black is for the overskirt. I'm not positive about the sleeves yet. If I can find a way to make them mesh, I'll do that. Just not sure right now what I want to do.
AUGUST 20, 2007
Got the pattern pieces cut and pressed and up on the wall. I do this mostly for motivation - though it does save space and reduces clutter. I'll also be pinning up a scratch piece of paper to keep notes on.

Here is a pic cutting out some of the gown overlay.

This week my goal is to complete cutting and marking all pieces.
This weekend I'll begin sewing.
Wednesday, August 22
Finished exterior bodice as far as I can sew (still need to do lining). For pic I set it over a sewers ham to show some shape.

Cyber likes the sewing room. She will lay on any fabric left on the table, so I either leave fabric scraps for her or cover the project with a vinyl tablecloth.

August 26th
I got the lining for the bodice cut and sewn, but that's about it. I got distracted with the patchwork quilt project. This week I'll try and get the overskirt and sleeves (with overlay) cut out and marked (working lots of OT on the job so not much time for sewing during the week).
Sept 3rd
Cut out and marked the overskirt. I should have gotten more done, but the quilt side-tracked me.

Sept 28
Sewed underskirt to overskirt.

Attaching Bodice to Skirt

Bodice and skirt together (sleeves still need to be done yet).
Doesn't look like much here, but it's really a cool dress so far.

Cutting out Mesh Overlay for the Sleeves.

October 7-10
Inside of dress. Preparing to sew bodice lining.

After sewing bodice lining - I'm now hand sewing lining to zipper and waistband (sheesh)

October 20, 2007
Here is Sierra modeling the finished dress. Hopefully she'll take a picture with her in makeup etc. on Halloween night.
