Wow, what you you all think of this?
....especially our Lawyer-To-Be out there.... you know who you are.... :-)
Can sex offenders be held after serving criminal sentences?
I am more than all for keeping the streets safe (and anyone who sexually abuses a child should be burned at the stake), but this sure sounds un-constitutional to me.
Why not use a different approach -
1.) Sentence them immediately to life in prison.
2.) Just execute them to begin with if the crime is that heinous
3.) Begin their prison sentence with a "program" to help them.

Date: 2010-01-13 04:36 am (UTC)Thing is with states now prosecuting teenagers for having pictures of other teenagers, as sex offenders, there has to be a line there; you can't toss everyone in jail; maybe just violent offenders.
Why do we have so many screw-ups who ruin evrything!

There is no good solution, but I tend to think the victims need additional protection because these people tend to re-offend. Considering the stupid crap we fund in this country I have no problem funding the removal of these criminals from society.
Maybe they could opt for castration?
