I am ashamed to tell you that I have never eaten a pomegranate. I even bought one once, but I had no idea what to do with it :)

I just cut them in half then pick out the individual seeds with my fingers and eat them. I tear away at sections to remove more and more seeds until they are all gone. It's a ritual. I put one in my mouth and suck on it until it bursts - then I suck all the juice out - and then eat the remaining seed. Some people spit out the seed, but they are really good for fiber.

Really? OMG-- my Mom used to buy me one a year (they were expensive) so I could eat the seeds. POM brand juice is my fav.

Gorgeous - what will you do with your bounty? I see the fruit in some yoghurt... can you make a jam?

Marcel is going to take some down south with him to eat, give away, and maybe make a dessert at the restaurant. Sierra lurves Poms, so she'll be eating several. I was thinking of looking up a recipe for Jelly. I'm thrilled they produced like they did. With the bad luck I've had in the veggie garden this year - my fruit (poms, figs, blackberries) have kept my spirits up.

I have a beautiful ornamental pom tree and it is so pretty, but I wish I had fruit.
You know the secret to getting seeds out, right. The rinse process? I think juice would be good!

The variety I have is called Wonderful. It's the most commonly grown pom for commercial production. I'll have to check out those videos - I just kind of "rub" them off as I go :-)

I love Pom brand juice too!(too bad it's so expensive - I get it, occasionally, as a very special treat)

This is a good illustration of how to seed a Pom.

I envy you!

When I was a kid, I suppose poms were pretty rare. We ended up with some, and we froze them. So yummy!
