Ted 1932-2009

Yesterday morning Marcel was checking email and announced Ted Kennedy had passed on. I knew it was coming since he'd been sick for so long, but I wasn't prepared. I retreated into the bathroom and had a cry. Ted is my idea of what someone in government should be. For the people - or maybe it's that he was for humanity. He's been called a True Believer, and I believe he was. I grew up with him in office, and he was one of the few senators I followed in the news. I cheered him on for the things he fought for. I was completely in awe of him.

His was a life not wasted. If there was a heaven - Ted would be on his way there.
