Coffee Recommendation
Dec. 15th, 2008 08:43 amI only drink coffee regularly during the cool months (December - March); I'm not a coffee snob or connoisseur, but I like to try and find the best product in my price range - and it's fun to make it a research project.
I recently bought a bag of beans from Sam's Club that I will recommend. It's a Member's Mark brand (Marquies de Paiva) Colombian, medium-dark roast, Fair Trade certified, whole bean. 2.5# bag was around $17 (or $6.80 lb.). It's not Organic; however, the roaster has a couple of Ico-Tec awards (one for environmental stewardship).
If you try it, and you have a drip coffeemaker - use a flat medium setting for the grinder.
I won't recommend qty of grounds since I make mine strong - I take it au soy-lait (or is that soy au lait?) :-)
Oh yes, I walked the Hook this morning - 59 minutes. Damp, windy, and cold - but it had been two days since I had a walk.....so I thoroughly enjoyed it. Listened to Zencast 185 & 186 Mindfulness of Speaking (just the lecture sections - I skipped the Q&A - too much talking....)
