Chickens Move In To Coop
Apr. 9th, 2008 10:37 amI woke up Tuesday morning (Tuesday is one of my days off) to the smell of chicken poop. I'd just completely cleaned their room Sunday (including shampooing carpet). My house was turning into a chicken coop. They had to go outside. I made another trip to Home Depot for more PVC to make a frame for the netting - and got to work making the coop ready for occupants. Since the chickens are small they can all live on the lower level right now. I got up the netting and installed a heat lamp (my 100ft extension cord has paid for itself many times over).
Here is the completed coop just before the flock moved in. Hard to see, but there is aviary netting covering the top:
