I am a Doctor of Quitology.....
Nov. 12th, 2007 11:21 amAccording to Quitnet.com :-)
Today I celebrate the fact that I have not smoked for an entire year.
Not even a butt or a puff (except when someone smokes near me)
I've quit several times in my life, but I've never been this successful before. I agree with people who say just keep trying as it will eventually stick. (I hope this sticks as it would suck if I ever started smoking again!)
I don't pay excessive attention to my quit. I log onto Quitnet.com each month and pledge, but I'm careful not to dwell too much as thinking about smoking (even as it pertains to staying quit) makes me kind of want to smoke (hard to explain).
This is a big milestone for me though, so I did want to mark it with a Journal entry.
Here are a few things I think about on this day:
* I still crave cigarettes occasionally, but in the same thought I thank the universe that I'm not smoking anymore!
* I figure I've spent around $650 on things other than cigarettes this past year (what they are I could not tell you specifically - probably junk food)
* I've gained weight, but this is more than partly my fault. I knew I would need to control my oral impulses - yet I allowed myself to snack etc. This next 12 month period will be spent getting down to a healthy weight.
So, that's it - yay me :-)
