My other job title: Chicken Doc
Mar. 13th, 2009 11:19 amThis morning I went out first thing to feed the chickens. One of my hens was bloodied. I had a heck of a time catching her - in the rain no less, and my rooster nearly had a heart attack over the whole episode. I couldn't leave her there though - the other birds would pick at her endlessly if I did.
I hot her inside and wrapped her in a towel to keep her still. Sierra scurried to get random first aid supplies. I got her cleaned up best I could - what a mess. I decided at least for today I'd keep her in my back bathroom - I'd like to clean her further when I have time and hopefully seal the wound up before turning her loose again..
Jeez - whattaway to start a Friday......

I often wonder what animals think about things.
