* I worked out for only 20 minutes this morning.  Just too much to do!  (I did manage to leave a spotless bathroom though - part of that 101 things project)

* Sierras' lack of job is really getting me down.  I don't have time to hold her hand; I have to work!  It won't be long now and her vehicle insurance will come due again - - - I'm not paying it.  I'm very frustrated about this - especially since she seems so unmotivated about the whole thing.

* This weekend I hope I can spend some quality time with my friend Bea.  I missed NYE with her - - and I didn't even call.  Shame on me!  Maybe we can find something to do that doesn't cost too much money (I wish she liked hiking.......) :-)

*  My work decided not to issue any of us calendar refills this year.  Apparently we can do without them.  Nice.......

*  I haven't had a soda since New Years.  I also haven't gone to Walmart or eaten any cakes/candies/donuts.

*  That's pretty much it for an update.

What are calendar refills?

I like hiking but it's a bit cold for me right now. I am glad the end of the week is looking nicer.

They are 1 sheet per day 5x7 pages with the day # and current month then last month on each page. You can write notes - write in appointment, and reference back notes/appts easily. They cost a whole $2.50 (we know because the company said if we want one we can go buy one for ourselves.....)

No calendar refill? The horror! We got ours the day we left for vakay. Of course Target had some nice wall calendars for $1 if you could get by on one of those.

Yay for no Wal Mart! Stay away!

I've been eating Whole Foods' vegan cookies. So good, and $1.19 each. Yikes! Okay, I only bought three, but they are so decadent.

I had to go to Walmart today and I believe it took 3 years off my life.

Avoiding that place isn't always easy, but I notice I save a lot more money when I stay away :-)

Ok, since we really dont live all that far from each other in the grand scheme of Texas I think we need to start looking at something to do this summer! I am thinking Natural Caves... cool when it's hotter than hades outside and fun to walk!

Definitely let's make a plan! I was just talking about the caverns with a friend on the phone last night. I love visiting them, and I always suggest it whenever I get houseguests.

Tough time to find a job, even if you're trying.

Congrats on the no Walmart/cakes/candies/donuts policy.

I have a kid who is not getting out there and looking for a new place. And not looking for lifts. I feel your pain.

I feel for Sierra, too. It must be hard getting knock back after knock back. You cannot keep on supporting her, though, presumably?

That's rough. It's a horrible time to be looking for a job (as I've attested to personally) but I know it's hard on you too supporting her when you really don't have the means to. Plus, because of the current situation, one has to work 3x as hard to get a job, not work less on it. And I don't blame you for not wanting to her hold her hand through it considering she's an adult. Supportive is one thing...hand holding is another. I hope she finds something soon.

Hey, GOOD FOR YOU that you're staying away from the junk food! And staying away from temptation!

I really feel your frustration. I watch how my son is (still here) about doing things here at home. I mean he can make a sandwich or wash dishes, he can bring in wood... which he WILL if I ask. It just seems as soon as they get home it's like Mom will take care of everything and they revert into total kid mode.

I can see.. you're stuck between a rock & a hard place... Has she had a job before? Or any experience? I wonder if your area has these state-funded job search type workshops (Human Services)she could attend.. no doubt, it would be awful but get her motivated? Good luck tomorrow...
