* Morning walk 53 minutes - The Hook.  Listened to a talk given by the author of The Omnivore's Dilemma.  I read the book a little while ago, and it was interesting to hear him actually talk about the subject.  I can't link to that specific podcast, but I put a link to another podcast from NPR below.

How much do you know about where your food comes from - and what the future of our food supply is?  If you are remotely curious about these things, please listen to the first few minutes of the interview of the author of The Omnivore's Dilemma - better yet the whole thing.  You'll probably want to even read the book once you hear what he has to say (I read it - worth it - and you can get it for under $10 at Amazon.com.  :-)     http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5342514

I would love to know where my food comes from and how it is made, but i can't even figure out where my toothpaste is whipped up. You would think these days, that anyone who manufactures anything, food or otherwise, made in the U.S. or Canada would put a banner on the package that screams this fact. Not out of patriotism but concernes about safety.

I agree 100%. I use Toms of Maine Toothpaste - it's made in American.

I've really enjoyed the parts I've read.. I just haven't gotten through the whole thing.. I'm not doing the cover to cover reading thing so well lately unless it's a captivating novel.. I think the book is great, tho' and WILL finish it. You've inspired me... again.. you seem to do that!

I'm about halfway through (it always takes me forever to read nonfiction), but find it fascinating. I read all of his In Defense of Food--which was really good too.
