how much is aluminum going for in your area? It got so cheap here in the DFW area it wasnt worth collecting anymore (you spent more in gas driving to the recycling places than you got in return). :(

Ha - I don't know. I have two 30 gallon trash containers full of crushed cans, and I haven't bothered to return them yet. I do it mostly because it's a motivation on my walk (how many cans can I find) - and it's a no hassle thing to recycle & do my part (plastic etc. - there are so many rules etc. - though I do want to graduate to recycling plastic too) I recycle paper by shredding it and using it in my chicken coop - then it goes into the compost bin.
