I woke up at 5am this morning with a Cyber laying on my chest.  She is over 11 years old; this is the first time she's done this.  I opened my eyes and turned on the light - there she was looking down at me half squinting.  I was like "Hellooo???"  She kind of sneered and lazily got up and off of me.  Once up - I was up.

Morning Walk
:  Mirror "J"  1 Hour 2 Minutes.  Listened to two latest episodes of Alan Watts Podcast and half of the All Things Medieval Podcast.  Picked up 20 cans (not kidding - many were road flattened).  No leg pain - but I did stay off the pavement as much as I could.

Nobody but me probably cares about this news, but I just found out that the Medieval Cookbook Form of Cury is going to be digitally photographed page by page and uploaded to the internet for everyone to study.  This is very  cool.  I have a little knowledge of medieval food/cookery from doing Renaissance banquets and catered events in a previous life, so I'm very much looking forward to viewing the book and reading the commentary.  You can get text from the book online, but this will be actual digitally reproduced pages!  I'm giddy - I'm not sure this makes me a geek or just weird  :-)  Here's a link to a news story for anyone interested:  http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2008/sep/22/10

There are online sources galore, but this cookbook is from the 1390! Medieval cooking is highly spiced (back then to mask the smell of "past prime" ingredients as there wasn't refrigeration), high fat, lots of meat, and I think very romantic. If I was a meat eater I'd still be experimenting heavily - I may get back to working with recipes for baked goods and desserts though.
