Yesterday I walked the Mirror "L" - 59 minutes.  I picked up 16 cans (half were road flattened which is how I was able to collect so many).  I'm thinking of making a waist sack and pick up random road trash once a week - I can't believe how many people litter here.  The "Don't Mess With Texas" campaign has failed.

I got up late this morning.  I woke up on time - I just layed in bed under the covers deciding if actually getting up is something I wanted to do, or I could stay in bed cozy under the covers yet get nothing at all done - - - I decided eventually to get "up and at 'em".

Today I'm devoting to working on the side of the house.  Trimming down the bush/reed thing so the wet leaves don't brush against the new siding.  Getting at least one coat of base on the new siding & trim.  Maybe in the evening I can either puto n another coat of base or a coat of color.  We'll see.

I'm also going to vote.

Our town has no recycling collection and most people just throw everything out in the trash. There is an old man who lives here, not homeless and not really a derelict, who collects all the aluminum cans- we call him Kenny the can man. He does all sorts of things- cuts grass, racks leaves, shovels snow- but mostly we see him digging through the trash cans for soda cans. I save all mine, and a lot of others do also, and put them outside for him to pick up. In a big city, most likely he would be picked up for "trash rustling" but not here. Actually he is doing the town a big service.
