* Morning walk: 45 minutes / 310 calories - listened to Diane Rehm Podcast of an update on the financial crisis.

* I'm back to a house full of food, so I'm going to make October a modified No New Food month.  I'll just be buying fruit, fresh vegetables, yogurt, and cheese (in moderation).  I don't know what it is - I just can't stop filling my fridge and cupboards.  I should have had a big family.

* Sierra comes home November 5th.  I'm excited to have the kiddo back, but I admit I'm a little aprehensive considering what's going on financially in the world.  Hopefully I will be able to arrange for her to have her own transportation, and she will be able to get a job and tend to her individual monetary needs.  There just isn't the disposible income on my end - I wish there was.  I'm going to try and think positive though!

Is your daughter moving back from Hawaii to live with you? That's big... exciting I'm sure but I can understand your apprehension. I'm sure she'll want to be as self-sufficient as possible and have a job lined up pretty quickly. She's 18?

I feel secure & LOVE having the pantry and freezer full of food! This is that time of year it seems the hibernation, prepare for winter instinct starts doing that....

I thought I'd feel old, but I don't. Maybe if I become a grandmother I might - but I think I'll dig it :-)

hahaha I admit, there are some days I feel kind of old...

Friends I know who are grandmas LOVE it so much and I'm sure I will, too, when the time comes... I just hope whichever of my kids has a baby is 1)ready 2)wanting to have the child & 3)living close to me.

I could wait for a while....

Tim just restocked his whole store this last week!

Maybe I can talk you into going to lunch at Peng's with me next month.

The last time you did the no new food thing - you made me super conscious of what I had hidden away.

Sierra will be with you now in no time. Will she help you with the chickens and the garden? Another set of hands would be very helpful.

*hugs* and positive energy

I'm the same way with a full fridge. Don't know what it is but I get panicky when it gets less than half full. I'm sure there's something to be said about that but oh well.

I hope things go well with your daughter at home. This is a hard time to be looking for work but hopefully she'll find something and be able to help out.

I recently experienced a time when you go to the store to get a can of tomatoes or fresh fruit or any diary. You couldn't find gasoline. Restaurants weren't open. You couldn't stick anything in the fridge or oven. If you had three-days-worth of "non-perishable" food and water... it wasn't enough.

Some people here still don't have electricity.

I'm absolutely fine with having a full pantry! :)

Keep that food comin' in! You never know what's down the track.

I hope your daughter can get a job etc. Think positive - it will all work out!

And enjoy having her there :)
