* Morning walk podcast: Diane Rehm show: Book - America & The World she has on both authors and they discussed current events specifically having to do with the situation in Iraq and policies / governments that have a stake in it.
* Today I had a dentist appointment (cleaning) - I listened to a really good Aspire podcast from 12/6/06on the way. After the appointment I picked up my friend Alexis, and we checked out the Unlimited Thought Bookstore - good stuff! I was on a budget, but got two strings of Feng Shui bells and my friend generously picked up the tab on a book and video for me. The bells are very nice. A string about 4 foot long maybe with tiny bells that ring in time to nature - hard to describe.

* How many times is Sarah Palin going to regurgitate the same stump speech? I'm getting tired of hearing about her firing her chef and putting a jet on Ebay. What's up with John McCain standing right next to her while she's talking about him - - he's just standing there mute - it's just weird.
* I stopped by the grocery on the way home, and when I came back out to the truck - I had a passenger! I was so surprised - I wasn't sure what to do. I said "Hi There" - and he looked at me (I mean - he really looked at me), and just stood his ground. I pulled out the camera to get a quick picture before he took off - but he didn't take off. I took another pic as I reached to him - and he got on my hand just as calm as can be. I carried him to a bush and let him disembark onto a branch. Cool - made my day.

* I got it in my head that I'm ready to see if I can get a nice alcohol induced buzz on without smoking. I've steered clear of all alcohol since quitting smoking almost two years ago. I bought a bottle of Japanese Plum Wine (kind of like an upscale Boone's Farm) and poured myself a glass over ice. I sipped it relaxing on the swing in my back yard and allowed myself to get pleasantly buzzed while I watched the stars and listened to Rickie Lee Jones on my iPod - Pure Heaven!! - I will do this again.

Date: 2008-09-11 10:40 am (UTC)What a cute little visitor!
The very first beer I had after stopping breastfeeding made me want a cig but since then, I've forgotten about it. I can drink now without thinking about smoking. It's nice. I'm glad it worked for you too.

That little lizard is cute. I would have done the same as you did. He graced you with his/her presence :)

Date: 2008-09-11 03:11 pm (UTC)I haven't had alcohol in years. Not really for any reason other than lack of opportunity. I'm always so busy imposing responsibility upon myself. Your time in the back yard on the swing sounds so peaceful. I might have to give something similar a try.
Have a beautiful day!
