* I forgot to pay my phone bill last month.... unusual for me, I'm usually very careful to make sure everything is paid on time - - last month I didn't even pay it.  I'm almost wondering if I got the bill.

* This morning I had a bit of a shorter walk because it was sprinkling out.  I listened to music.  I should have started a Podcast - it would have enouraged me to walk longer even though it was wet and soggy.

* I made Bean/Chz pancake enchiladas for lunch.  I'm going to do this more often - it's filling and I need a change from Frunches.

* I don't want lunch to be over - - - it's freakishly busy today..... I just want to hide under a rock.

* On the politics front - - I've decided if McCain/Palin are voted in I'm going to make plans to move to Canada (I'm not kidding - I may not be able to swing it, but I'm going to try - just completely fed up with the domination of right in this country)  I'm not mad, I'm just resigned.

I so thought of you on Saturday! The newest store in the PCC (Puget Consumer Coop) opened in our little burb on the 3rd. I went in to explore on Saturday. One of the things I saw was that vegan "marshmallow" fluff stuff you once put in a post! I smiled.

I want to roam around the store taking pictures, but I restrained myself. So many unusual things - like orange cauliflower!

If you move to Canada come to BC so you are at least on my side of Canada!

Orange Cauliflower - that's about as appetizing as green cauliflower. I like cooking (white) cauliflower well then mashing it to a pulp with margarine and cream - good fattening food. No wonder I can't lose weight.

Did you see the movie French Kiss where Meg Ryan is at the Canadian embassy or consulate talking to an agent becoming a Canadian.... "I want to be a Canadian....just...like...you" hehehe

I'm sure I can find plenty of Canadians who will tell me it sucks there just as bad, but it couldn't possibly be worse that our country these past 8 years. I think it's mostly me. I only moved back to this country 4 years ago, and I was spoiled by living in a rational sane country for over 7 years....then to return to this!!?? Ack!! I really am frustrated to tell you the truth. Just breathing for now trying to get through it.

I'm glad Obama is starting to duke it out - I don't even care if he gets negative. Democrats are always getting walked on for being polite and not wanting to look like bullies. I hope he kicks butt - and I'm happy to see him start.

When Rick & I were stuck in the car the other day we were talking about moving out of the country. I was thinking Sweden. :)

I completely feel your frustration. McCain has somehow salvaged his campaign by choosing Palin. My SIL, for example was wanting Hilary. But since she's out, she moved to Obama. But then, when McCain brought in 'the woman' ... she totally flipped to McCain. I imagine a lot of people are swinging that way. It's disgusting really. The actual issues don't matter to people! It's Right on! A woman! Or it's We can't have a black man [or some less nice word!] for president.

Thinking about it all really depresses me.

Whether I disagree with who a person chooses to vote for or not, please at least have some concrete reasons as to why you are supporting them, you know?

I didn't realize how ignorant people can be. No, I kind of did the last election - - I was completely floored that Bush got voted in again.

Anybody who was a Hillary supporter that is now voting McCain because of Palin is a dumbass.

I just don't get that the majority of Americans are so ignorant. My personal opinion is that it's religion that's driving it. I dunno.

Religion is a huge part of it. The 'Christian' values that McCain/Palin appear to represent is a driving force behind many people's decision.

For instance: My brother is one of those hung up on something he heard about Obama not saying the pledge of allegiance? I'm not sure if that really happened or if it was a part of that email that had been going around about him.

Personally, I think that whether it's true or not, it's an asinine reason to base your decision.

I think people get too caught up in 'tradition' & 'symbolism'.

Then again, I'm a heathen ... so what do I know? ;)

You haven't seen ignorant until you live where I live. I am not kidding when I tell you people boycotted Heinz ketchup because Kerry's wife was affiliated with it. I almost got fired from my moonlighting job as a waitress because some frizz haired redneck old lady told me she refused to use our ketchup because it was Heinz. I asked her what the problem was, and when she told me my mouth must have dropped to the ground. I said "you....have....GOT... TO BE KIDDING ME!!" - I rolled my eyes and walked away. Her husband complained to the supervisor on duty - and they gave the table another waitress....lol - I just laughed (and so did some of the people in nearby tables).

Oh yeah, and it was becasue Obama didn't put his hand over his heart for the National Anthem .... of course by the time enough retards pass it around it probably mutated into he was seen break-dancing naked on the flag singing the Communist Fight Song.

If you go to Canada take me with you!

Are you still coming over on the 10th?

We'll escape like the border crossers of old - fleeing a country of religious extremists and mediocore wine...!!

Yes! my dentist appt. is at 1pm; it usually lasts about an hour (maybe a little more but not much), so I can come get you by 2:30pm including travel time. You still want to go to the Unlimited Thought Bookstore? If so, I'll make a map :-)

I hope you have lots of toilet paper rolls and maybe paper towel rolls for the boys. They have chewed all their stuff up.

We really considered a move when GW got elected the second time. My faith in the country was gone; and it still pretty bad.
I agree with your comment reply-the Democrats need to get down and fight.

I don't like to push a post i made if someone didn't comment; but this is aimed at anyone of several people i've "heard" making similar remarks: http://joebanks.livejournal.com/378806.html and these qoutes by him seem overblown for something like this, don't they? I mean they were aimed at ragged shoed soldiers of the continental army who were frozen and half starved.

I totally didn't see that post. I read LJ in bites often on breaks at work, so sometimes I don't remember exactly where I was when I stopped reading - and I don't see everything. I would have definitely commented on that one - which I just did. I'm glad you pointed me to it.

How did that happen? I bet you will be looking out for this month's bill!

Would you like the cooler climate if you moved? I can understand you frustration :(

True - I probably would not like the cold much. I could move to Mexico ..... I wonder if Border Patrol arrests you if you're trying to LEAVE the country....?? :-)

I'll go with you... great minds.. I've been thinking I'd be ready to leave this country, too, if the worst happens....

I did the same with my phone bill 2 months ago... they changed to online billing. I just forgot it...!

what's frunches?

We could find a few of us - pool our resources - and start a commune somewhere in the mountains! :-)

I just missed the 60's, and it really bums me out because I have the soul of a hippy :-)

Frunch is slang for Frozen Lunch. It's what I named the individual portions of stoup I make and freeze ahead. Convenient because I pull it out and it thaws enough to finish of in the microwave at work at lunch.

Yes, you do have the soul of a hippy and so many of the young people these days, do, too.. it does me heart good! I vote for Mexico... coconuts, fish, warmth... there's an area I love (nearest big city Mazatlan) called Teacapan where I'd move in a heartbeat... where there are lots of Canadians & Americans settled and it's so sweet!!

Cool idea for lunches...

You've been crazy busy!
I don't want McCain/Palin in either that would be like having Bush for a third term (UGH!) I'm too stubborn to move because of politics I'll stay if only to annoy the 'Mavericks' *cough*
