Here is some highlights of 2007 I'm working on consolidating my pictures from Japan this month, and I'll post them in various albums. Right now I'm just trying to get them all into one place (I have multiple photo accounts from when you could only have 100 pics in a free account).

Edit: Note - This plays weird from my friends list cutting off and starting over multiple times. It might do that on your too. If you click on the window it will take you to the orignal scrapbook and it seems to play seamlessly from there.

You went to Japan?

Your post raises so many questions! I hope you don't mind them all.

Who are Chi and Mo? Are they the culprits that ate your phone?

You have a cyber baby? How does that work?

You make tempeh? Or did you go to a workshop?

Ooooh! Pecans grow where you are! They grow ere, too, although I haven't got any :(

Flowering Rosemary is so beautiful, isn't it?

You are good at sewing :)

Thanks for your post. I have learnt a lot from it, also I have found out how much aboput you I don't know!

I love documenting my life in pictures. I wish I'd started sooner! Thank goodness for digital cameras. I'm happy to answer questions - it helpse me put details in my journal :-)

I live in Japan for a total of 11 1/2 years. 4 years as a child when my father was stationed there. 7 1/2 years as an adult working as a civil servant for the Navy. I moved from Japan to this house in July of 2004.

Mo and Chi were my dogs. Last year they began to find ways to escape out of the yard while I was gone and cause havoc. I kept reinforcing the barrier, but they kept at it. Once day they escaped and broke into someone's yard who had bunnies in a hutch. They broke in and slaughtered them. The police were called, and the dogs were confiscated. This all happened while I was at work. The owners mother came over to tell me what happened the next morning. I completely fell apart. It's as close to a nervious breakdown as I've ever experienced. I went to bail them out of the pound, and the vet there had a heart to heart with me. In the end I put them down in the most humane way possible (I held them the whole time). This made my mental state even worse even though my friend and the vet said it's for the best considerng. I still get that tightness in my heart to think about it - a mixture of guilt and remorse. (yes, they ate the phone.....it was my fault for leaving it out on in the cup holder of my yard chair ... *s*)

Santa delivered Cyber to my daughter Sierra via email - which is why she is called Cyber. When I lived in Japan Sierra spent every Christmas holiday in Hawaii with my parents and extended family. I couldn't send her that gift, so I emailed it from Santa's workshop (it was an online service). That was in 1997 - she's still with us (me).

I learned to make Tempeh from an Indonesian friend when I was in Japan. I incubate it in a Hovabator egg incubator!! (though I'm saving to buy an Excalibur food dehydrator and will use that for the tempeh as it will regulate the temperature better)l. I've got soybeans soaking this very minute for a batch I'll make this weekend. Somewhere in my Journal I think I made a "how to" post - if not I need to. Good digestable protein!!

I have two pecan trees. Last year they produced the first crop since I lived here. Might have had something to do with all the rain. I still have shelled pecans in my freezer. They are extremely high in fat, but it's the "good fat" :-)

I love to sew when my life and home are in order. This doesn't occur very often, but I'm working on that :-)

Rosemary grows everywhere here - I'm talking the Walmart parking lots... hahaha.

I smiled the whole way through - I remember almost every picture from this year. That made me feel great, it reminded me I have a very cool, very mindful, very alive and very beautiful friend.

You rock.

I do the same thing, but I'm not as polite as you - I leave it to my friends to figure out who it is :-)
