* One of my Pluot trees all of a sudden looks like it died.  Very weird - one day fine - next day this:

I've been keeping it watered, and the other Pluot is fine.  Very strange.  I'm going to continue to water it and see what happens.  My Fig tree resurrected itself - maybe this one will too.

*  The big looming tree next to my house that I had removed early this year is trying to come back in the form of  several "bushes".  If I don't keep it cut back it will end up taking over.

* Since that tree was cut down there is a lot of sun on that side of the house.  This little weed/bush never bloomed before - this year it's beautiful.  I think I will prune it and see if I can get it to look nicer for next year.

Jack says this is commonly called Cenizas which is Spanish for ashes.. the common name is Texas Sage. He said you CAN kill it by overwatering that one.

Hope your Pluot comes back.

Tell him thank you - I'm terrible with plant identification. I don't know the names of half the stuff on my property. I like this one - if I give it attention it might do well. It had been heavily shaded by the big tree. Even my neighbors miniature rose bush is going crazy this year because of the sunlight.

How nice.. . like getting some new plants! He says, "you're welcome." Jack knows more about Texas plants than NM for sure... He was trying to see the tree you cut but the leaves were too small to get an ID. :) Any ID you want, send pictures of leaf or flower.

I think the tree guy said it was a hackberry. Whatever it was it was GIANT monstronsity that gave me a lot of stress as part of it was hanging over my house. I am not a fan of cutting down trees, and this one was not sick - I just couldn't live under it.

understandable... when necessary a tree being cut down is a good thing. In this case you have a few happy plants as a result of more light!

Yes, my friend's husband said it was Texas Sage. I might grow some more since I've been here 4 years and haven't managed to kill this one :-)

Put a fence around it and tell everyone: "I meant to do that"!
