Plumbing

About 5 minutes before I was supposed to be out the door to work I reached in the under-the-kitchen-sink cabinet to get some paper towels and I see it's all wet and soggy - the "floor" of the cabinet warped under the weight of the stuff in there.

Crap - just when I make progress paying on house project stuff ........

I don't know what it is, but I'm hoping it's  a problem with the drain line.  I might be able to fix that myself.  I put a crockpot under where I think it's leaking and went to work.  It's all I can do for now.  Probably should have shut off the water to the house just in case.

For sure I'll need to repair the plumbing and then the floor of that cabinet.  Rats!  :-)

Could just be a leak around the coupling. I got you some websites that help with easier plumbing jobs. You are WOMAN, so you can do ANYTHING.....right??

Good Luck! You can do it!

Yep, it's a leak where the metal part of the drain meets the porcelain part of the rinse sink. It only leaks when I plug the sink, so it took me a while to figure it out. What a relief! - I was so thinking the water main into the house broke and was soaking into the foundation (the water comes into the house in that general area). I'll hit Home depot when I get off work the 31st and make that my New Years Day project :-)

I like being handy and doing projects once I know how. I didn't have a fix-it dad - and my brother wasn't that way either. I learn (and collect tools) as I go.

oh yeah - thanks for the links!!

My sympathies. Something always seems to go wrong with plumbing or elecrics at holday time. I hope you're able to fix it yourself.

That's one reason I really hated owning a home. Something was always breaking. Apartment living can suck but one great thing is when stuff breaks, you just call someone up and they come deal with it. If they're good management company that is. Hehe.

I'm glad it turned out to not be too bad though.

You're welcome! I do that too. I hate having to get someone to fix a problem that I KNOW I can probably do myself. Because of that, I have learned how to do some plumbing, electric work, and general fix it jobs.

Yea! Go YOU! Good luck!
