I didn't think using my Touch as an ebook reader was an option considering the small screen size.

I was wrong.

I just downloaded an awesome app to my iTouch:
200 Great Books.
This is what's called an iFlow reader with 200 classic books pre-loaded in it.  It can auto-scroll, and you can customize font size and color - as well as background color.

$1.99 now on iTunes

Drawbacks - you can't load in any ebook you want - you can read the pre-loaded books - and there is no way (that I know of) to purchase more.

Loving it though - I am going to see if I can get myself reading again :-)

The only major drawback for reading books on one of these is eyestrain. But other than that, yeah it's great!

There really is an app for almost anything.

shame, shame

Sorry, i can't be happy for you. You are helping to start the landslide that will eventually send books the way of vinyl records.

That - or get used to reading a different way. You can make the font larger and set it to scroll - it's different than a book - like a teleprompter. I like it, but if I ever get the iPad - I'll probably read with that instead.

Nah, it's a free country :-)

I'm happy for the abundance - regardless of the method it's delivered in.

Agreed, But as someone who has been using small screens for this activity for years, I still prefer a real life book.

Granted the iPad, if (when) I ever get my hands on one might well change that. Gods know that I wouldn't have touched a Touch or an iPhone if someone hadn't put one in my hands in some Apple Store I was in.

Took all of about 10 minutes playing with the thing and I was SOLD!

I actually really do want to get to know the iPad. Just what I need. Another GADJET! *grins*
