Thank you [info]dydan for posting this information in your journal.

I just think this is the coolest thing ever, and I joined today.
I want to talk to my other half before getting active though.

Fun stuff - can't wait to get started.

Is anyone else involved in this?
Is anyone thinking of getting involved in this?
Don't you think this is awesome?

Kiva is wonderful, I've been involved for a couple of years now!

Very good -- they send regular updates; if your chosen vendor repays even a small amount, say $2.31 of the loan, you get an email. And it's very easy to just turn the funds over to another person once the original loan is paid back.

Have you ever gotten burned on an investment? How do they handle that?

No, I never have. I am on my 5th or 6th person right now, none of them have ever failed to repay. If you are worried about that, you can always split whatever money you want to give between a number of different recipients to minimize the risk.
