Oct. 17th, 2008 10:27 am* Morning walk - Small Hook - 42 minutes - 306 calories - 121 Avghbpm - Podcast: Audio Dharma - The Eight Winds.
A random puppy joined me on my walk this morning. I had to stop a couple of times and play with him. It's been a long time since I played with a fat hyper puppy - it made me very happy. When I got to Ferryboat road - he wandered off. His owners really should be more careful, but it was nice to have his company.
The podcast I listened to during my walk was just exactly what the doctor ordered for my somewhat discontented and confused state lately. It's funny how the help comes if you just relax, open yourself up and let the universe in. :-)
(you can listen to the recording from Berget Jelane here if you like: http://www.podnova.com/channel/17787/episode/501/ )
"A truly wise man will not be carried away by any of the eight winds:
prosperity, decline, disgrace, honor, praise, censure, suffering and pleasure.
He is neither elated by prosperity nor grieved by decline.
The heavenly gods will surely protect one who does not bend before the eight winds."

I found this related quotation online - it's from the Eight Winds Gosho.
