Random Bits

ZUCCHINI
Vine borers got to them - all 6.  I dug the little buggers out of 4 but lost two.  I'm going to start some more and see - kind of late for a fall crop.  Doesn't hurt to try though.

VEST PROJECT
Painfully slow progress.  Tonight I will fuse the interfacing to the facings and sew and finish them to the vest.  If I have the energy I'll do the arm holes and finish the sucker up so I can start on Sierra's Halloween gown.

NEW MAGAZINE
Received my first issue of Backwoods Home Magazine yesterday.  A lot like Mother Earth News only more.....redneck??.  Definitely has a political agenda which I'm not used to.  I guess they are Libertarians - not sure exactly what that is but they are sure against any kind of meddling of the government  and they seem to like guns a lot.  This is fine - I've always had an open mind - this won't be any different. I will enjoy the self-sufficiency and homesteading articles.

MY NEIGHBOR 
My neighbor to the left is very nice.  He is even getting his friend to look at my riding mower for me (it needs tweaking constantly).  I can't recall his name, and this bothers me so much.  I hate it when people know my name and I've forgotten theirs.  

WEED EATER
I was using the weed eater yesterday and the gas line split.  I was way proud of myself.  Instead of cursing my bad luck I trimmed it and re-attached it.  It was too short though, so that didn't work.  So I took it off entirely and brought it to Ace Hardware and told the clerk "dude, I need more of whatever this is".  He cut me some and I went home and put it on - off I went again.  Yay!  Soon I will be Grisly Adams or the Home Improvement Guy.....what is his name???
