Decided I'm not going to make the Houston Plant Swap trip.  More reasons to skip it than to go:

For Going
Meet new people
Make new friends
Get away and go somewhere

Against Going
Probably $70 in gas will need to go out (which really isn't in my budget)
Get off work at 9pm and would have to leave at 6am the next morning (before leaving have to gather plants etc.)
Probably going to rain so will be traveling unfamiliar roads in the rain
There are already 28 people attending at someones house - crowded and I'd prob be intimidated
Where in the heck are all those vehicles going to park?
What would happen if the truck had mechanical problems on the way or on the way back?
It's a day off I rarely get - could be used to sleep in and do projects rather than driving.

I realize it's negative, but truly - it's better to just skip it.  Even with the positives...... Houston isn't really a dream getaway, the people I meet live far away - so I'll probably never see them again anyway (until the next swap).  I'll skip this one and participate when they do an Austin or San Antonio swap.

On another note.........

It rained yesterday enough to fill the big bin under the rain gutter to the top.  This morning I emptied it into the middle of the front yard along with the water in the other bin in front.  This is a pain, but it helps keep water away from the foundation of the house.

It's supposed to rain today too.  It was lightly sprinkling on my way to work, and it's very gray and overcast out.

The wetness has curtailed my gardening a bit, but I'm not cursing it - the alternative is drought.
