Rain Rain Rain
Jun. 27th, 2007 01:35 pmStill raining.
Relieved that it's coming down at reasonable intervals and at a reasonable intensity so far. This isn't so in other parts of Texas.
I've been putting 5 gallon buckets and 55 gallon trash cans under the eaves and downspouts to collect water in. The next day I relocate it further away from the house. This is pretty much a hassle. I really need to invest in a rain barrel system. I just don't have the extra $500-600 it would take. I could spend $125 for a single barrel setup, but that would not really make such a huge impact. If Home Depot or Lowes had them I'd purchase them on the 12 month no interest plan. Maybe I should go in there and see if I can duplicate what is needed in parts and do the work myself. Not sure it would save me money, but I could pay it monthly instead of having it all on a credit card (no way would I carry over that much on a credit card).
Weather issues still all over the news. Family still hasn't called. Guess they have some inner feeling that all is well, so they really don't have to bother checking for themselves. :-)
