Wasn't this Gas Out Day?

I wonder how the gas out thing went today?  I got several emails about it, and it was even brought up in one of our staff huddles.  

Personally I don't see the point of it.  All people will do is buy more gas before that day or fill up after.  The oil companies are going to get there money either way.  

If people really wanted to do something to protest, they wouldn't drive on that day - or they'd get rid of their Hummer's and F450's and get something that doesn't require a dedicated oil refinery to run.
