Morning walk was The Hook - 1 hour 11 minutes; but about 5 minutes of that was stopping and visiting with the miniature donkey & Shetland pony down the road. I spotted the neighbors' dog on Ferryboat road - far away from home. He was running with some other dogs. Not good. His owner is not teaching him boundaries, and I worry about my chickens when I move them to the main part of the property (they will be fenced, but this wouldn't stop a dog with a rogue nature). On my walk I listened to two episodes of a four part Alan Watts podcast series on self. I hear his words, but I can't fully wrap my mind around it. I really have to put meditating back into my daily routine and make it a priority (hmmm...making time to be still a priority - just seems kind of ironic). I also listened to an episode of the Splendid Taple and got a lead on a new book for my Amazon.com wishlist. It's called Beans: A History. It's written by an man who is an expert in Renaissance food and has a few books published on that subject. I love beans; I have no doubt I will enjoy reading this book. It will just need to stay in my wish list long enough for the price to go down quite a bit. No hurry - I have enough worthy books to read right in my house to last me all year.
I slept fabulously in spite of the fact that my house, right now, looks like a sophomore's dorm room. This weekend I have to not allow any distraction and get it whipped back into shape. I am a little tired of scolding Sierra about her role in this. I'm not especially tidy, but she is a professional house-trasher :-) Having a house guest adds to the chaos a little I guess, but I will miss Daniel when he leaves - and I hate where he has to return to. He isn't my child, but my heart goes with him to that place where he is put in danger every day.
