Most roosters are on their guard, watchful & defensive... that seems to be their job in the flock. One of our roosters, one that one of our own hens raised, in fact, was so aggressive we had to get rid of him. He would actually fly at me. He wouldn't DARE do that with Jack but he had me intimidated.
When Roo first started to get Roosterly I read a good article online about how to go about ensuring you were the Alpha of the territory. They suggested first to pick up the rooster whenever he was showing signs of aggression and carrying them around for awhile until the became submissive. There were more suggestions if that didn't work, but that seemed to work for us. He still scares the bejeezes out of my neighbors daughter though - and because she's too afraid to stand up to him - he gets away with it :(
Wow... The rooster that got aggressive with me was way too scary for me to pick him up... and too big by the time he began... I admit, he alpha'ed me right out of the order. What a goodo idea, tho'. I WILL remember that next time tho' already if this new rooster startedt to get aggressive, he's already too FAST and too big to even catch... I hope he stays nice.
No, the straggler is Penguin - she is into deep dust baths. She's made several bowls for herself in the yard. Next year I may move them into the main property as they are tearing my yard up (not that there was much more than weeds there to begin with :-) )

All the girls look really pretty... Roo is so stately!
My new rooster is just a goofy looking guy, feet too big, kind of daffy when he runs... makes me laugh...
