This morning I put on my heart monitor for my walk.  I was curious to see how aerobic I was and how many calories I was burning.  Well, not very aerobic - but I did burn a few calories.  46 minute walk at podcast pace (I walk faster to music) burned 293 calories.  I think I may continue wearing the monitor - it's fairly motivating.

My walk podcast this morning was from PRI Selected Shorts: Refresh, Refresh.   It's about a boy in a town (Crow Oregon) where all the fathers were shipped off to Iraq - and what it did to the boys.  Probably the best short to date I've heard from PRI.  After it ended I couldn't help wondering if the turmoil these boys went through also goes through the heads of Islamic Extremists children.  Talk about a vicious cycle.  If you do podcasts, this is worth a listen to.

I usually walk in the evening, and I've been thinking about getting some kind of monitor to track my progress.

See, that would be considered part of the liberal media thing, because it shows a negative effect of the war.

I bought it a few years ago with excess Health spending account money I needed to spend before the end of the year. It was really worth it.

Yeah, it's amazing how much it feels like we're elevating our heart more than we are. /sigh.
